Artist Bio
Lauren Willington is a fine artist whose work spans printmaking, painting and sculpture,
grounded in a sensitivity to place, material and message.
Originally trained in Textiles and Fine Art, Lauren completed a BA in Fine Art at
Winchester School of Art. Post-pandemic, they have focused on establishing roots as an
artist in their local community – exhibiting with regional galleries and developing a dual
practice as both an artist and professional picture framer. The latter of which offers
valuable creative exchange and collaboration with fellow artists.
Their work often begins in the landscape – through quiet, detailed reduction lino prints that
capture a sense of space and atmosphere. These prints serve as studies or springboards
for larger-scale paintings that investigate political, social and environmental themes more
directly.
This balance between the intimate and the expansive reflects a practice that is both
reflective and outward-facing – committed to craft and concept in equal measure.
